John Voeller

Mr. Voeller was with Black and Veatch for 37 years holding positions from nuclear engineer to CIO, CTO, and CKO. He now acts as an advisor to CEOs, Chairmen and Board members of international companies working on strategic planning 10-20 years into the future.

Mr. Voeller has also consulted for the Department of Homeland Security Office of Science and Technology since its creation. In 2003, he was made an ASME White House Fellow in the Office of Science and Technology Policy, Executive Office of the President. In these roles, Mr. Voeller developed strategic and tactical plans for interagency and national initiatives and promoted collaboration to ensure multi-agency colllaboration. His efforts included the creation of a massive database of all HS/HD/IC R&D projects across all agencies from 1986 to present that is the only one in existence.

Mr. Voeller has received numerous awards including the FIATECH James Porter Award for Lifetime Achievement in Technology and Innovation, 2010, the Award of Excellence from Engineering News Record magazine for 1998, the CIO Enterprise Value Award for 1997 from CIO magazine, the Ed Forrest Award For Highest Achievement in Engineering Automation for 2000 and the CIO Premier 100 Award as one of top 100 CIO’s In the US for 2000 .
